This morning Mom and I were out in the kitchen, and Emma and Sarah were in our room. All of a sudden we heard them shrieking and yelling. They came running in telling us their were "reindeer in our front yard". I grabbed my camera and Mom and I went in to the room, and sure enough, there were 4 'reindeer' out in our front yard, eating Mom's rosebushes. Two of them even had antlers.

The fourth one seemed to be the oldest (at least with the biggest antlers). He seemed to not be doing much eating - just watching out for the others. He was the only one who seemed to be watching us.

Emma and Sarah were pretty excited. They were convinced these are four of Santa's reindeer. They had figured out the names for all of them. We were surprised that Jake didn't freak out. He obviously was too cold in the garage and didn't hear them (Nice watch dog). Mom actually let him in the house so he didn't disturb them so we could keep watching them. They moved across the yard toward the field.

Eventually the big watcher wandered over to the side fence and then hopped over the fence.

One of the others hopped the fence, but the other two (maybe the younger?) went down to the driveway and around. By now I went outside to get pictures and they took off bouncing across the field. Emma and Sarah were freaking out at how they 'flew' across the field.

So it was a pretty exciting morning with a couple of Christmas Eve visits from Santa's reindeer. I guess they're just prepping for their visit tonight!
